The first landmark of any major construction project is always an exciting one, and that’s why we’re so thrilled to announce that the first gates of the A-B Connector are now open for our airlines and passengers to enjoy.
WestJet christened the new Gate B17 with a flight that arrived from Kelowna just before 8 a.m., and the new Gate B18 with a departure flight to Prince George that took off at about 9 a.m.
The two new upgraded gates and more space for flight operations are a bonus for WestJet and other airlines operating out of the new terminal area, while spacious hold rooms are a plus for passengers.
Many more exciting features are on tap for the new A-B Connector as part of Phases Two and Three.
Phase Two is expected to open this November, with an additional three gates and new and improved passenger amenities including: Plaza Premium Lounge, ICE Currency, Flight Stop (newsstand), Marshall Rousso (women’s clothing), Tumi (luggage and travel accessories), Lick (candy store), Vino Volo, Green Bean Café and Carl’s Jr.
Phase Three will open in 2015 with another three gates and even more passenger amenities, including Famous Famiglia (pizza).
These retail amenities, combined with the one-of-a-kind modern First Nations glass artwork and unique architectural details, will change the face of Domestic operations at YVR and allow us to continue growing as a premier global gateway.
