Each month, we recognize one of the many photographs we receive for our Canada from the Air project and name it Photo of the Month. Most months, we can't decide between all the amazing entries submitted, but for April the unanimous choice was this breathtaking view of picturesque Tofino, British Columbia.
Submitted via Twitter by @nikonrachel, the picture is specacular in so many ways. The light off the wing’s underside gives the picture an ethereal quality which is only enhanced by the circular rainbow in the lower right corner. Between the endless expanse of forest and coastal waters, the picture includes almost every conceivable hue of green and blue. And because a piece of the aircraft is captured in the frame, the image imparts the quality that you’re actually on board, peering out to the awesomeness below.
You can reach Tofino directly from YVR’s South Terminal using one of the many float plane companies that operate off the Fraser River.
If you want to be a part of the fun, submit pictures of our amazing country taken from the sky via Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #YVRCanada or email submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org. And follow us on Instagram!
