Last week, YVR’s community team, the YVR Flight Crew, kicked-off the Summer Festival Series at the 23rd annual Fat Cat Children’s Festival.
Eight B.C. First Nations youth artists recently received scholarships of $5,000 each from the YVR Art Foundation.
YVR will seem a little dimmer this Saturday as some of the terminal lights are switched off for Earth Hour - an annual worldwide event that encourages everyone to turn off their lights to raise awareness about power consumption and the need to take action on climate change. Millions of people around the world will switch off their lights on March 29, 2014 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Lights in the Domestic and International terminal buildings will be turned off for one hour but don’t worry operations will not be affected.
Each Year YVR proudly co-sponsors the Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports (VASS) Cup, a day of competitive ski and snowboard racing to raise funds for VASS’s snow sports program. This year, the YVR Team carved their way home to a bronze medal at the 7th Annual VASS Cup.
