600 Particpants, 27 Agencies, 1 Training Exercise

On Wednesday, April 17, YVR is staging its largest training exercise ever.  Over 600 Vancouver Airport Authority staff, business partners and volunteers will take part in the training exercise.  This is a chance for participants from 27 agencies to work together to test our Emergency Management Plan.

You may notice flames and flashing lights from emergency response vehicles arriving at a simulated aircraft crash site if you are near the north west end of the airfield. The training exercise also has a simultaneous component that will occur in the terminal —near air carrier check-in counters as well as the public arrivals areas.   All exercise participants will be clearly identified with a nametag, vest or white YVR baseball cap.

Regular operations should proceed as normal and we will do our best not to inconvenience YVR passengers or other customers.  More details can be found on our website (link to latest info post).
