From blooms to bacon: YVR Celebrates Mom

Working at an international airport, we’re lucky to witness some pretty amazing family reunions every single day. And we’re anticipating even more heartwarming moments this weekend when children from across the country and world come home to B.C. for one special person: mom.

That’s right – this Sunday, May 13 marks Mother’s Day. And YVR retailers are stepping up to help sons and daughters arriving and departing through YVR show their mom just how special she is.

Vancouver Airport Florist (Domestic Departures, Level 3) and Salamandra Gifts & Flowers (International Arrivals, Level 2) are offering a variety of mixed bouquets including colourful favourites such as peonies, hydrangeas, lilies, roses, gerbera daisies, tulips and tropicals.

And Vancouver Airport Florist is making it even easier for passengers arriving on Sunday, May 13 with additional flower tables located in Domestic and International Arrivals (Level 2) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If your mom is coming to pick you up from the airport – or if you’re looking for a great brunch spot with unique views of the North Shore Mountains and busy airport activity, not to mention phenomenal food – The Fairmont Vancouver Airport hotel is offering a special Mother’s Day brunch at its Globe@YVR restaurant. Nothing says “thanks, mom” like bacon, right?  Happy Mother’s Day!
