Fun Fact Friday: YVR recycles more than 1.25 million kilograms every year

YVR is attempting to become one of the most sustainable airports in the world. A big part of acheiving this lofty goal is through our ambitious recycling program.

Did you know that every year Vancouver International Airport recycles more than 1.25 million kilograms of material from the terminal?

Any time you hear a number that big, it's hard to fathom just how much stuff that actually represents. To put it in perspective: 1.25 million kilograms is the equvalent weight of seven Boeing 747 jumbo jets!

To learn more about sustainability efforts at YVR you can visit the Sustainability section of our website, or even better, come visit us this weekend at the EPIC Sustainable Living Festival, where we'll be answering any and all questions related to sustainability at the airport.
