North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH for short - we airport people like our acronyms!) week kicked off at YVR today with an opening event and wellness fair. The annual week-long event aims to build awareness about safety and health in the workplace and is held at locations throughout North America. For more information about NAOSH and this year's events, visit www.naosh.ca
At today'sYVR health and wellness fair, we had a number of booths showcasing safety equipment, safety demonstrations, product sampling and information from a number of our business partners. One booth featured the safety equipment that our Emergency Response Services team uses, while others provided CPR demonstrations, free samples, massages and even a dental health check.
Today's wellness fair is just the start of NAOSH activities at YVR. Later this week, we have our annual FOD (foreign object debris) walk where volunteers walk the airfield at dawn to collect garbage and debris later this week. Stay tuned for some great airside photos to come.
In the meantime, check out this picture of just some of the specialized safety gear used by our YVR Emergency Response team. Can you name some of the gear on display?
