For fans of Asian cuisine (everybody), Cathay Pacific’s latest contest will have you salivating for a big bowl of delicious, comforting noodles.
To celebrate National Noodle Month – yes, you read that correctly – the airline is launching a contest to source the very best pan-Asian noodle dish, to be served as an in-flight entrée aboard its flights between North America and Hong Kong.
Using Pinterest to gather entries until April, Cathay will shortlist the top five most liked dishes for judging by a pedigreed panel of foodies. Check out celebrity chef Martin Yan using exuberant “jazz hands” to introduce the contest in this YouTube video. His enthusiasm knows no bounds.
Speaking of noodles, YVR’s C Pier is home to a great selection of healthy, authentic noodle dishes courtesy of Rice Tales. You can pick your noodle, your sauce, and vegetarian or meat options and customize your dish for a new taste every time. Give it a whirl the next time you travel through the Domestic Terminal – you can even take it to go. Fresh and healthy in-flight snacks? Now, that’s using your noodle…
The Cathay contest runs through April 19, winners get a free trip to Hong Kong on top of seeing their creation become part of their in-flight menu. Cathay Pacific will judge based on taste, appearance and practicality. Good luck to all those who enter!
