The Future of Travel

Infrared identification? Airport Apps? Biometric scanning? Leisure space travel? No, it’s not Star Trek re-run, it’s Future Travel Experience – the worldwide forum for aviation innovation and technologies. The Airport Authority hosted the conference for the second year and delegates from as far away as Dubai came to Vancouver to discuss the future of travel and how technology can help simplify the entire travel process.

Some highlights? We heard presentations about better baggage systems and our very own Kevin Molloy, VP of Simplified Passenger Travel and Chief Information Officer opened the conference talking about how mobile technology and apps can help airports re-connect with travellers. We also learned about the future of leisure space travel from Jose Mariano, CEO of InBloon, whose company proposes to take paying travellers into space via balloons. Check it out here: www.inbloon.com.

And finally, we discussed the many ways to make your travel easier through collaboration between airports, airlines and governments, from security checkpoints to making crossing the border easier. So tell us, how do you think airports and airlines make your next trip easier?
