Twelve Days of Travel Tips, Day # 9: Children's Play Areas

Toddler and dadFamilies flying with small children will no doubt have their carry-on bags stuffed with goldfish crackers, a favourite toy or book and possibly some holiday candy for a good behaviour incentive (bribe). Instead of breaking into your bag of tricks too early, snag a seat near one of YVR's children's play areas and let the little rascals clamber to their heart's content. Play areas can be found at these locations:

  • Domestic Terminal Food Court, Departures Level 3 (before security)
  • Domestic Terminal, Gate 3 (after security)
  • Domestic Terminal, Gate 43 (after security)
  • U.S. Departures, Gate 81 (after security)

The Public Observation Area on Level 4 above the Domestic Terminal Food Court is another cool place to let off some steam. Investigate the airfield through a telescope, watch a few behind-the-scenes videos and check out our scale model of Sea Island.

And each of our Customer Care counters is stocked with colouring books and crayons, another diversion to cram into that carry-on.

Finally, pick up that extra extra large coffee and a pack of Timbits to go at one of our airport Tim Hortons locations.

Here's wishing you a trip that's merry and bright!
