Noise Management Plan

The five-year noise management plan for YVR provides an overview of the Vancouver Airport Authority's Aeronautical Noise Management Program. The noise management plan also describes the planned initiatives and reflects the underlying direction of the YVR Aeronautical Noise Management Program over the five-year period. Progression on the various initiatives is summarized in annual noise management reports.

During the preparation of the 2009-2013 YVR Noise Management Plan, the Airport Authority retained Wyle Aviation Services to undertake a review of noise management programs worldwide in an effort to identify best practices. Information from this review will continue to help guide  work on the initiatives identified in the 2009-2013 YVR Noise Management Plan.

Annual Reports

Each year, the Airport Authority publishes a noise management report which outlines what we’re doing to help mitigate noise.

This annual noise report provides a summary of noise management activities and initiatives at YVR. It also contains information on annual number of operations, data collected by the noise monitoring terminal network, and a summary of complaints.
