Noise Management Plan Update

We have updated our Noise Management Plan. Thank-you to all those who provided input and comments throughout the process.

Vancouver Airport Authority recently completed the final draft of its comprehensive Noise Management Plan.  The plan is a requirement under YVR's ground lease with the Federal Government and sets the framework for the YVR Noise Management Program.  The Plan includes specific inititatives to improve the noise environment around the airport over a five-year period (2014-2018).  The final draft was delievered to Transport Canada in December 2013 for their review and final approval.

Creating the Plan was a year-long process.  The process to develop and gather input for the Plan was systematic with four main steps, which are outlined in the figure below. The process was accomplished with the help of community, government and industry contributions. Community insight was gathered through an online survey, discussions and interviews with members of the YVR Aeronautical Noise Management Committee, and meetings with key local municipalities, citizens and industry representatives. 

   

The final version of the Plan will be posted following final approval from Transport Canada.
