Vancouver Airport Authority Announces New Directors to Board

Graham Clarke, Chair, on behalf of the Board of Directors, announced today the appointment of two new Directors: George E.H. Cadman, Q.C., appointee of the Government of Canada and Wilson Parasiuk, appointee of Metro Vancouver.

Graham Clarke, Chair, on behalf of the Board of Directors, announced today the appointment of two new Directors: George E.H. Cadman, Q.C., appointee of the Government of Canada and Wilson Parasiuk, appointee of Metro Vancouver.

"We are delighted to welcome such accomplished individuals to our community-based Board of Directors," said Board Chair Graham Clarke. "Their accomplishments in business and contributions to community organizations will be great assets to the Airport Authority, and will help ensure that YVR continues to be a source of pride for all British Columbians."

George E.H. Cadman is a shareholder of Boughton Law Corporation practicing civil litigation, with an emphasis on resolution of corporate, commercial, securities and real estate disputes. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1990. He has an active practice in both mediation and arbitration. In addition to his position with the Airport Authority, Mr. Cadman serves on the Board of the Vancouver Board of Trade, President of the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada, and Chancellor of the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster.

Mr. Parasiuk is an entrepreneur with more than 35 years experience in the private and public sectors. He is founder and CEO of the Paralink Group of Companies which organizes international public/private sector partnerships in the export of Canada¿s expertise in health care, education and government services. Previous positions he has held include: Deputy Chair and CEO of Interhealth Canada Ltd; Chair and CEO of the British Columbia Trade Development Corporation; and President of Vancity Enterprises. Mr. Parasiuk also had a distinguished public sector career in the Canadian, Manitoba, and British Columbia governments serving as a civil servant, MLA, Cabinet Minister, and as Chair and CEO of various Crown Corporations. He serves or has served on the Boards of private, non-profit and public companies and entities at the local, provincial, national, and international levels.

The predecessors to the two new Directors were Beth Johnson and Ronald N. Stern. "The Airport Authority benefited greatly from their vision and guidance," said Mr. Clarke. "On behalf of the Airport Authority, we thank them for their many contributions to our airport and our community."
Recently re-appointed to the Airport Authority Board were Peter Dhillon, appointee of the City of Richmond, Philip Owen, appointee of the City of Vancouver, and Graham Clarke, director at large. Mr. Clarke was elected to another term as Chair.

Vancouver Airport Authority is governed by a Board of 14 Directors. Nine Directors, with key ties to the local community, are appointed by eight nominating entities. Up to five Directors are appointed by the Board from the community at large. The Airport Authority President and Chief Executive Officer also serves as a Director.
