Braidwood Report Statement
June 18, 2010
Statement from Larry Berg, President & CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority following the release of the Braidwood Commission Report into the death of Robert Dziekanski on October 14, 2007
On behalf of Vancouver Airport Authority and the entire airport community, I would like once again to express our sincere condolences to Mrs. Cisowski and her family for their loss.
Following the release of the Braidwood Commission report today, I would like to thank Justice Braidwood for the thoroughness of his inquiry and for acknowledging the changes made at Vancouver International Airport by the Airport Authority in December 2007.
We are reviewing the report in detail and will implement the further measures that Commissioner Braidwood recommends. Our goal is to ensure that every passenger is cared for, regardless of what time of day they arrive or what language they speak. With this objective in mind, we continually strive to find better ways to work with our airport partners and improve our customer care so that this type of tragedy never happens again.
